Managing WPForms with a large set of fields can be tedious, especially when making updates to fields one by one. WPForms doesn’t have a built-in bulk editing feature. This is why we built the bulk edit feature in Bulk Actions for WPForms that allows you to update multiple fields’ labels, placeholders, CSS classes, visibility, required status, and more with a single click.

What Is Bulk Editing in WPForms and Why It Matters

Bulk editing allows you to edit/update multiple fields simultaneously. It not only saves time but also ensures consistency by avoiding confusion during the editing of large forms. If you are doing a repetitive edit for multiple fields, then doing it one by one can lead to errors and can be frustrating as well.

Let’s assume you want to mark multiple fields as required. Without bulk actions for WPForms, you will need to open and edit the fields manually. If there are 50 fields in the form, then it will easily take you more than 50 minutes of work. However, with the bulk edit fields feature, you can easily get this done within 2 minutes or less.

Prerequisites for Using Bulk Edit

• Installed Plugin: Bulk Actions for WPForms and Ultimate Kit for WPForms must be activated.
• Existing Form: Ensure you have a WPForm with multiple fields.
• Access: WordPress dashboard with editing privileges.

Step-by-Step Guide to Bulk Editing Fields

Using the bulk edit fields feature of Bulk Actions for WPForms is straightforward. Follow the steps below.

• From your WordPress dashboard, navigate to Forms -> Ultimate Kit.
• Highlight the multiple fields you want to edit by Ctrl (or Cmd on Mac) and clicking each field.
• Now, click on the Edit button from the top menu. This will open the editor pop-up.
• In the pop-up, you can select between the Individual and Bulk mode. The individual mode will show all separate editing boxes for each field. In Bulk mode, you can set the same values for all the selected fields.
• Through the editor pop-up, you can make the following changes
  • Field Label: Rename fields.
  • Description: Add or modify descriptive text.
  • CSS Classes: Apply uniform styling.
  • Placeholder: Change placeholder text for input fields.
  • Required Toggle: Make fields mandatory or optional.
  • Label Visibility: Show/hide labels.
• Once you have made the changes, they will reflect in the form editor immediately. Click on the Save button to make them live.

Can I undo changes made using bulk edit?

Yes, you can go to WPForms revisions and revert the form.

Does Bulk Edit affect conditional logic?

No, bulk edit doesn’t change the conditional logic of the fields. You can only make changes to labels, placeholders, CSS classes, required, and visibility settings.

Can I apply different settings to each field?

Yes, switch to Individual Mode to update fields separately.
