Certain marketing companies employ people to submit contact forms with sales pitches. Since these are real humans submitting the forms, they can bypass CAPTCHA and honeypot protection. Most of the time, the notification of that submission will end up in your inbox. If you are constantly getting such form submissions then you can blacklist emails or whole domains or certain words from making submissions in WPForms.
Plugins required
Steps to Blacklist Email Ids or Domains for All WPForms
- Install and activate all the required plugins as listed above.
- Now go to WPForms > Ultimate Kit and then click on the settings icon at the bottom left corner.
- Now go to the Blacklist section.
- Enter the email ids and domains you want to block in the input field next to the ‘Email Blacklist’ label. You can add multiple email IDs or domains and separate them with a comma (,). Example spam@ranksindia.com, spammarketing.com, seofake@gmail.com
- Enter the text you want to block in the input field next to the ‘Blacklist Text’ label.
- You can add multiple words or sentences in the input field.
- After adding a blacklist text, the next sentence you need to block should start from a new line. You can’t separate different blacklist text with a comma(,) or any other special character because they are considered part of the sentence.
- You can also add a validation message, which will be shown to users who fill in the blocked email address.
- Now save the setting,s and the email IDs and texts will get blocked on all the forms.
Steps to Blacklist Text and Email Ids or Domains for a Specific WPForm
If, for some reason, you want to add some additional email IDs, block words, or use an entirely different validation method, then that can be done too.
Follow the steps below to block the text and email IDs/domains from a particular form
- Navigate to Forms -> Ultimate Kit menu item from your WordPress dashboard.
- In the ‘Blacklisted Emails’ input field, you can add email ids/domains to block.
- In the ‘Blacklisted Text’ input field, you can add multiple words or sentences to block.
- In the ‘Blacklist Message’ field, you can add the message you want to show when someone enters a blocked email/domain and text.
Blacklist Text input field is case-insensitive. So, you can add text in uppercase or lowercase, and these texts will get blocked for your forms.
